Information on registration fees for students from outside the european union, the europe economic area, Switzerland and Québec

Following the deliberation voted by the executive Board on January 20, 2023 and in conformity with the regulatory exemption procedures, here is how the differentiated registration fees for students from outside the EU, EEA and Quebec will apply at UPEC.

Note that for the year 2022-2023, the differentiated registration fees amount to :
- €2,770 per year at the licence (bachelor) level
- €3,770 per year at the master level
 

Cases in which differentiated fees apply as of 2023-2024

Will be required to pay differentiated registration fees :
  • Students enrolling for the first time in higher education for the following years of training or diplomas: Bachelor's degree, professional Bachelor's degree and BUT (1st, 2nd and 3rd year) ; DEUST ; "Capacité de droit" (Capacity in Law) ; DAEU
  • Students enrolled for the first time in higher education starting in 2019-2020 who have received a partial exemption from the President and registering at least three times in the same year of an equivalent graduation cycle and after academic recommendation from their faculty of origin. For example: tripling or repeating a year when changing their course of study in a bachelor's or master's degree cycle.
Will be granted partial exemption

Will be partially exempted and therefore pay the same registration fees as French or European Union students :

  • Non-EU students enrolling in the French higher education system for the first time and entering a Master's degree (1st or 2nd year)
  • Baccalaureate holders of the AEFE network (French educational network abroad) who enroll in the French higher education system for the first time
  • Students who entered the French higher education system in 2019-2020 and 2020-2021, enrolled in initial and lifelong training national diplomas and meeting the following academic criteria for year n+ 1: admission to a higher year, first repetition or first in-house reorientation within the same training cycle

Students need not apply for an exemption.
They will be applied partial exemption directly for the current academic year.

Will not pay differentiated registration fees

Will not pay differentiated registration feesIn the following situations, differentiated fees do not apply :

  • Students joining UPEC on an exchange program
  • Students awarded a French government grant (BGF) from the Ministry of Higher Education and Innovation or the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs
  • Students who hold refugee status or equivalent status
  • Students enrolled in "Classes préparatoires aux grandes écoles" (preparatory class for Grandes Ecoles) registering at UPEC
  • Students enrolled in third cycle of health studies
  • PhD/Doctoral students
  • Students holding a specific residence permit : long-term resident card - EU ; Algerian residence certificate ; resident card or residence card of family member of a citizen of the Union / EEA / Switzerland ; residence card - directive 2004/38/CE
  • Students attending a distance learning course within the framework of teaching agreements with UPEC
  • Students with the following tax status : tax resident in France or attached to a tax household located in France for at least two years
Important: to register students will have to provide the necessary documentation supporting their case (as listed in the registration file).
