RESUS - UPEC’s university health network
Published on March 2, 2016 – Updated on March 29, 2016
At UPEC, we believe your health is essential to your academic success. To help you stay in good health, UPEC, doctors from the Collège des généralistes enseignants formateurs de Créteil, the Conseil de l’Ordre des médecins du Val-de-Marne, the Services d’accueil médical initial (SAMI) and student health insurance companies have teamed up to launch an innovative scheme: RESUS - UPEC’s university health network.
RESUS offers:
Easier access to a local general practitioner
A consultation without additional medical fees: doctor members of the network apply a national agreed (“sector 1”) rate of €23, suggest a third-party provider* and guarantee exemption from paying an advance on fees, for a final consultation fee of €6.90
Quality medical care and personalised referral to a specialist if required
After-hours care from 8pm and weekends, until midnight, in one of 12 first-call medical care services (SAMI) in the Val de Marne.

Holders of a UPEC student’s card benefit from a consultation fee of €23 (national agreed rate). If you are a holder of a valid French state health insurance card (“carte Vitale”) and/or certificate, the doctor may suggest a third-party provider* for a reduced consultation fee of €6.90.
The RESUS network covers dozens of general practitioners in Paris (75) and the departments of Val de Marne (94), Seine et Marne (77), Seine Saint-Denis (93) and Essonne (91).
Personalised referral to a specialist
If necessary, the general practitioner may refer you to a specialist, such as an ophthalmologist or an ear/nose/throat specialist.
After-hours service
After 8pm and weekends, you can visit one of 12 SAMI (first-call medical service) in the Val-de-Marne and benefit from concessionary rates applied by the French social security service.
SAMI opening hours:
Monday-Friday > 8pm-midnight
Saturday > 4pm-midnight
Sunday and public holidays > 8am-midnight
Minimum rates are (as of 01/04/2013):
Night consultation: €58 (8pm-midnight).
Public holidays and Sundays: €42.06 (8am-8pm)
Standard surcharges may apply. Technical procedures (electrocardiogram, minor sutures and immobilisation) may also be charged.
* Third-party provider: Meaning that the patient does not pay the full charge upfront and is only responsible for the portion of the fees that are not covered by the national health insurance system.
