Digital process for Erasmus+ Inter-institutional Agreements

Published on April 29, 2021 Updated on October 6, 2021

With the first call of the new Erasmus+ program less than a year away, Université Paris-Est Créteil shares information regarding the set up and renewal process for Inter-Institutional Agreements between program countries with its current and potential Erasmus+ partners for the 2021-2022 to 2027-2028 period.

Extension of KA103 agreements under 2020 & 2021 call

The European Commission considers all current Inter-Institutional Agreements between higher education institutions as still valid to organize student and staff mobilities under Erasmus+ KA103 projects, including those that will be selected under the 2020 call.
  • The validity of the current Inter-institutional agreements for KA103 mobilities is extended by one year, i.e. covering also mobilities funded in the 2021-2022 academic year
  • All UPEC’s KA103 agreements will be automatically extended until August 31, 2022 unless one of the parties terminates the agreement by providing a written notice at least six months prior
  • For partners in the UK, all KA103 agreements with UPEC will be automatically extended only for the first semester 2021-2022. The UK will be a non-associated third country in the new program.

New signing procedure via Erasmus without Papers

Inter-Institutional Agreements should be digitally signed using the Erasmus Without Paper (EWP) infrastructure, which is in test-phase until October 2021.
That means that we can test the infrastructure, but cannot currently use it for setting up agreements formally valid for the new program. Testing data will be maintained until the end of the extended testing period (October 2021), after which it will be deleted.

Since the EWP infrastructure is not ready yet, it means that we do not sign any agreements yet. If everything goes as planned, the online signing procedure via Erasmus Without Papers will start as of December 2021.

Preparatory work
In order to prepare a smooth digital signing process of our agreements, it is important to discuss the cooperation conditions beforehand via email (number of students, total number of months, mobility type, subject area code, study cycle and language levels). During this preparatory phase, members of the different university faculties, schools and institutes International Relations Offices at UPEC will get in touch with their partners to discuss the cooperation conditions.
