Université Paris-Est Créteil has placed Europe at the heart of its international policy, with more than 70% of its partners located on the continent.
As a multidisciplinary university and a major player in the eastern Paris region, UPEC actively participates in the Erasmus+ program. Having received the Erasmus+ charter 2021-2027, it has committed to: implementing the European Student Card Initiative, issuing Diploma Supplements, developing hybrid mobility (physical and virtual), and implementing Erasmus Without Paper to make all processes digital.

UPEC has committed to:

Creating an extensive network of partners at the local and international levels
Providing quality working conditions for its staff and supporting their initiatives
The Erasmus+ program plays an essential role in structuring UPEC’s international strategy, as it allows the university to expand its influence abroad and embrace trends in higher education. UPEC’s dedication to Europe and its commitment to adopting the Erasmus principles are fully in line with the university’s political and social vision.
To collectively contribute to the university’s continued advancement, UPEC implements the activities of the program so that all students and members of staff can benefit from international training practices, working methods, and research.
UPEC intends to fulfill its role of facilitating social mobility so that its students can find their place in the world. Each year, the university encourages thousands of its students to participate in study or work abroad programs by giving them access to its extensive, professional network of international partners. The Erasmus+ program and its annual mobility scholarship mechanism contribute significantly to giving our students international exposure and developing our university’s reach abroad.
Although Europe is the main region which sends and receives a majority of students, UPEC also maintains strong connections with Latin America. Similarly, the university is working towards strengthening its cooperation with North America (with French-speaking Canada, in particular), Southeast Asia (Vietnam), French-speaking Africa, and South Africa.
European cooperation allows us to increase and consolidate joint research projects, including outside of Europe.
As part of the 2021-2027 program, UPEC’s Erasmus+ strategy aims to meet the following objectives:
Increase international mobility of students and staff
Develop the marketability and cultural sensitivity of our graduates
Strengthen European projects
Develop European double degrees
Consolidate research projects and PhD mobility
Remove obstacles to mobility (linguistic, socioeconomic, disability, etc.)
Implement all tools and initiatives of the program
UPEC also applies its international policy at home and pays particular attention to welcoming all its international students, including individual mobility students. This is one of the reasons that UPEC’s efforts were awarded two stars on the Bienvenue en France label.
