The Erasme Program

Université Paris-Est Créteil (UPEC) won the PIA 4 "ExcellencES" investment program's call for projects for its Erasme program (Teaching and Research to Advance Societal Missions through Commitment). Erasme aims to recognize excellence in all its forms and support institutions of higher education and research in carrying out an ambitious site-wide transformation project. As an engaged university, UPEC is constantly thinking of new ways to respond to the challenges of social and environmental transformation by promoting excellence and greater social justice.

Objectives

The Erasme program will fundamentally transform all of UPEC's missions and the way in which UPEC interacts with its partners and the society. During the program, we will realize our ambition of being the benchmark for committed universities in our region and in France overall.

The Erasme program redefines all of the university's missions, broken down into four key objectives:

  • Rethinking training
  • Developing and sharing research
  • Engaging with partners and communities
  • Contributing to a fairer society

Erasme: A Program Based on Extensive Community Consultation

As with the construction of its strategy, UPEC built its Erasme program through extensive community consultation.
Consultations prior to the drafting of the program brought together over a hundred of the university's stakeholders, including students, lecturers, and administrative and technical staff.

Erasme completes the university's strategy by equipping it with the resources it needs to realize its ambition: to think of new ways to respond to the challenges of social and environmental transformation by promoting excellence and greater social justice.
