Optional French language courses available during the year.
OBJECTIVES
The Master’s degree provides comprehensive training for careers in urban planning and spatial development. This specialized track provides student with the theoretical and practical tools necessary for working in multi-actor, multi-scalar, intercultural and multilingual contexts.
Students will develop reflective approaches to just transitions and the program provides critical knowledge on urban development finance and governance, stakeholder dynamics, and supranational and international professional worlds (including historical legacies of transnational, national or local public policy frameworks, the weight of colonial history, post- and decolonial and relational approaches).
Finally, it prepares students for professional roles in international contexts, particularly in multi-actor and multi-scalar facilitation ranging from community level to international arenas, as well as in managing uncertainty and limited access to data.
The program can be attended entirely in English, or both in French and English since some elective courses in French are also offered.
