Since its foundation in 1970, Université Paris-Est Créteil (UPEC) has established itself as both a locally grounded institution and a globally connected university.

UPEC is one of the major multidisciplinary and vocational universities within the Paris area.
With 19 sites and its main campus only 20 minutes from the heart of the French capital by subway, its serves a population of over 38,000 students.

Comprehensive Academic programs and State-of-the-art research


A major player in the dissemination of academic, scientific and technological culture, UPEC offers over 350 training programs in all disciplines, from technical degrees to doctorates (PhD), including a series of degree programs entirely taught in English. The university is home to 7 faculties, 8 schools and institutes, 33 research centers and an Observatory of Sciences of the Universe.


Internationally oriented


Boasting a diverse community of more than 130 nationalities, UPEC is highly invested in encouraging international exchanges and increasing the mobility of students, staff and faculty members. Each year, the university welcomes over 3,700 foreign students and about 50 international guest lecturers and researchers. To help with their arrival and settling in France, the university provides information and support from the application process to everyday life on and off campus. International students can benefit from special services such as adapted French courses, easy access to healthcare, and support for administrative procedures and in finding an accommodation or a job.
