This semester, more than 130 international students from 28 countries are joining the UPEC community. A look back at the welcome program organized to support their arrival.
On Tuesday, January 27, 2026, Karine Bergès, President of Université Paris-Est Créteil (UPEC), and Dr. Syed Akbar Zaidi, Executive Director of the Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Karachi (Pakistan), signed a Memorandum of Understanding, paving the way for future academic collaborations between our two institutions.
The 2025 edition of the International Welcome Days supported more than 400 international students as they settled in at UPEC. The program featured a Welcome Desk to guide them through administrative procedures, along with a wide range of activities designed to familiarize them with the university, its services, and the Paris region.
The UPEC team took part in the 2024 biannual Aurora conference in Naples. This was an opportunity for the various work packages to meet and make progress on the next stages of the Aurora 2030 program, after a succesful first phase.
From June 17 to 28, UPEC is hosting its first Aurora Summer School at the AEI International School. Students from UPEC and four other universities of the european alliance will acquire practical and theorical skills about innovation, social foresight and futures literacy.
Each year, the authorities in Val-de-Marne support research by awarding outstanding local university projects through the Prix de l’Université. Among the winners of the 2023 edition are two PhDs and a master’s thesis from UPEC.
On October 17 and 18, 2023, UPEC attended the “Aurora Biannual” organized by the Palacký University Olomouc in the Czech Republic. With more than 150 participants from 12 universities, UPEC was represented by a delegation from the Management Team and staff members working on the Aurora project.
The 2023 edition of Research.com’s ranking of the best female scientists in the world has been published. The ranking celebrates the work of female researchers and increases their visibility. It uses data acquired from a wide range of bibliometric sources on a panel of 166,880 profiles.
Created on August 1, 2022 through a government order of the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research, UPEC’s Institute of Political Science was inaugurated on December 18, 2023 in the presence of Sylvie Retailleau, Minister of Higher Education and Research, Jean-Luc Dubois-Randé, President of UPEC, and Yves Palau, Director of the Fontainebleau Institute of Political Science.
